Lakewood Police Officers funeral procession
On Sunday morning November 29, 2009, four Lakewood Police officers were slained in a Parkwood coffee shop while they were working on reports. A few days later the suspect, Morice Clemmons, was shot and killed by a Seattle Police officer. Tuesday, December 8, a funeral procession started from McCord Air Force Base and preceeded north on South Tacoma Way to the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma Washington, where a memorial service was held. Over 3000 Police, Fire and other EMS vehicles from all over the Pacific NW, including British Columbia Canada, followed the four white hurst that carried the officers bodies. I photographed the lead part of the procession as the procession approached So. Tacoma Way and 52nd . Thousands of people lined the street to pay their respects to those four officers and their families.
The lead part of the procession was photographed in black and white film and will be added to this blog page at a later date. I have included digital images.
